TN Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa has assured that if returned to power she would urge the Centre to award citizenship to eligible SL Tamil youth in refugee camps so that they could secure employment.
The AIADMK chief gave this assurance while addressing a meeting at the G Corner where she introduced 67 candidates from Tiruchy, Karur, Pudukkottai, Thanjavur, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai and Villupuram districts.
Ridiculing DMK’s stand on the Lankan Tamils issue, Jayalalithaa charged DMK chief M Karunanidhi with not only deceiving people of the State but also Tamils of Sri Lanka and held Karunanidhi and his daughter Kanimozhi responsible for the genocide in the island nation.
“Karunanidhi was acting against the interest of Tamils in SL while taking part with the government but presently, they included the international probe against Sri Lanka in their election manifesto. Tamils will never be deceived anymore,” the AIADMK chief said.
