We should be whipped for selecting Sarath Fonseka as the army chief, former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa says.
The observation was made while speaking to media personnel after arriving at the Commission of Inquiry (CoI) this morning (09).
The observation was made while referring to a statement made by the former army chief. Field Marshal Fonseka told Parliament on Tuesday that a bomb blast apparently targeting Gotabaya Rajapaksa 10 years ago was an “inside job”.
“What can I gain through that?..It’s a silly statement” Rajapaksa added. He also said they should be whipped for making Fonseka as the army chief that time.
