Possibility of thundershowers over the island still high – Met Dept.

The possibility for evening thundershowers over the island is still high today (10), the Met. Department predicted.
The Department added that showers or thundershowers will occur over most provinces particularly after 2.00 pm.
Heavy falls (above 100 mm) are also likely at some places. Showers are likely in the Eastern, Uva and Southern provinces during the morning too.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
