The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) warned people in Balangoda and Imbulpe Divisional Secretariat areas of possible cut slope failures and landslides, if the prevailing weather conditions continue.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department said the rainy condition is expected to grow due to a low level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Eastern, Uva and Southern provinces. There may be temporary localised strong winds during thundershowers, the department said.
