Met. Department predicts heavy falls today

The Met. Department predicts heavy falls (around 100 mm) at some places across the island today (13).
Showers or thundershowers will occur at most places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Eastern, Uva and Southern provinces.
Cloudy skies are expected over the southern half of the island due to the prevailing atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka. Thundershowers will occur at most places elsewhere particularly after 2.00 pm.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
