Showery weather to continue, heavy falls likely

Heavy falls around 150 mm are likely at some places across the island today (14), particularly in the southern half, the Met Department predicted.
The atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka is likely to develop further. Under its influence windy and showery weather over the country and surrounding sea area is expected to be enhanced by today evening.
Cloudy skies are also expected over the most parts of the island due to the atmospheric disturbance.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at most places in the Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and Eastern provinces.
Thundershowers will occur elsewhere particularly during the afternoon and night.
