
Very heavy falls around 150 mm are likely at some places across the island, the Met. Department predicted today (15).
The atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lankaa’s intensified in to low pressure area and established in South east. It is likely to intensify further and gradually develop in to a depression and likely to move closer to Sri Lanka affecting the weather over the country and surrounding sea areas.
As such, showery and windy conditions are expected to continue over the country and surrounding sea areas. Cloudy skies and Showers or thundershowers are expected over the most parts of the island.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
