No power outages in main cities - CEB

Several areas in Colombo and across the island experienced power outages since this morning (16) due to the prevailing bad weather conditions, it was reported.

 


An official said that repairs are underway to restore the power soon. However, Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board, Anura Wijepala told Ada Derana that power outages were not reported in main cities. 

 


Heavy downpours have been bearing down for the last few days now. There has been widespread flooding in parts of the country and the next few days look just as unsettled.
