Heavy rainfall expected in several areas

Showers will occur at times in the Western, North-Western, Southern, Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces while fairly heavy falls (above 75mm) are also likely at some places, the Department of Meteorology said.
Showers or thunder showers will occur at a few places in the Eastern province after 2.00 pm today (May 22), it said.
Strong windy conditions over the country and in the sea areas around the island will continue further particularly over the Southern, Eastern and Northern sea areas.
The Cyclonic storm ‘ROANU’ which was located in the Bay of Bengal has crossed South Bangladesh coast near Chittagong. Strong windy conditions over the country and in the sea areas around the island will continue further.
