The motion of no-confidence against Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake will be presented in Parliament next week, said UPFA MP Bandula Gunawardena.
Addressing a “Joint Opposition” press conference in Colombo today (3), the former Minister said that there is a clear clash between the Finance Minister and President which is evident now.
He stated that President Maithripala Sirisena made a proimise to the entire population of the country that not only will he disallow any tax burden to placed on the masses but also send home the officials who propose such things.
He claimed that Minister Karunanayake has challenged the promise made by the President and burdened the public with heavy taxes.
