An individual has been arrested after he allegedly ran over and killed a person on a pedestrian crossing in Mahamorawewa, the police said.
The accident occurred on Habarana - Trincomalee road early hours of this morning.
The remains of the deceased have been deposited at the Metigahatenna hospital pending an autopsy. The driver of the vehicle will be produced before the Magistrate today.
