
UPFA MP Mahindananda Aluthgamage has been appointed as a member of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) in Parliament, JVP MP Sunil Handunnetti says.
Handunnetti who also is the Chairman of the COPE said that the appointment was made replacing the name of Prasanna Ranatunga on 17 May.
Names of Abdul Maroof and Prasanna Ranatunga had been suggested to be appointed, Handunnetti said.
With the new appointment, the COPE comprises 26 members currently, Handunnetti added.
