Court postpones case against Welgama until 22 August

The case filed against MP Kumara Welgama has been postponed until 22 August by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court, Ada Derana reporter said.
The decision was taken when the case was taken up for hearing before the Colombo Chief Magistrate this morning.
The case was filed on the charges of illegally paying Rs.3.2 million to the Vice Chairman of the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB). The Bribery Commission said that the transaction had been approved while Welgama was serving as the Transport Minister of the previous Government.
