Election Commission urged the public to be concern about their enumeration forms distributed through the Grama Seva Officers or the special enumerators until 21st June and to meet them or the relevant District Elections Office in case if it is not received yet.
“Sovereignty of people, which has been certified by the Constitution could virtually be exercised through the universal franchise, which is one of the civic rights. To exercise this franchise, having the name in the electoral register is a must”, said the Chairman of the Commission Mahinda Deshapriya.
According to the Election Commission, the exact number of people, who have the right for vote have not been registered so far.
The dully filled forms should be returned before 15th July to the enumerator and if any failure to submit on time, they should be sent to the District Elections Office without delay, Deshapriya said.
