
The Colombo Additional Magistrate today rejected the bail applications submitted on behalf of former Senior DIG Anura Senanayake and former Crime OIC of the Narahenpita police Sumith Perera.
They were further remanded till July 07 after being produced before the court today, Ada Derana reporter said.
Senanayake was arrested by the CID on May 23, for concealing evidence pertaining to the murder of rugby player Wasim Thajudeen.
He was questioned by the CID for several days before he was arrested.
Former Crime OIC of the Narahenpita police Sumith Perera was arrested for allegedly withholding evidence pertaining to the case as well.
Thajudeen, a Sri Lankan ruggerite and former Havelock SC captain, was killed in Colombo in May 2012.
