
The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has announced that it will launch an island-wide token strike from 8.00 am to 12 noon on Monday (04), over several issues including the private medical college in Malabe.
GMOA Secretary Navin De Soysa stated that the Government Dental Surgeons’ Association and the Sri Lanka Ayurveda Medical Association have informed that they will join the strike action.
In addition to this, the Sri Lanka Public Service United Nurses’ Union and several other trade unions in the health sector have expressed their support towards the token strike, he said.
