The Navy has arrested 11 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing activities using monofilament nets in the seas off Muddalampiddi.
Along with the suspects 7 fiber glass dinghies and eight monofilament nets were taken into naval custody.
The arrested fishermen and the items were handed over to Mannar Directorate of Fisheries for onward action.
