Govt.’s decision on SC verdict about VAT on July 20 - Gayantha

A special discussion with respect of the court verdict on the increase of Value Added Tax (VAT) will be held on 18 July, Minister Gayantha Karunathilaka says.
The observation was made while speaking at a press conference held in Colombo this afternoon (13).
“The final outcome of this meeting will be announced on July 20,” he added.
He also added that amendments of the prices of 15 consumer goods will be declared tomorrow.
The decision was taken during the discussion between President Maithripala Sirisena and the Cabinet sub-committee on the living cost, held at the Presidential Secretariat.
