A 23-year-old youth, suspected to be involved in three separate murders in Hikkaduwa, has been arrested while he was hiding in a relative’s house in Pallekele, Kandy.
Police investigations have uncovered a connection between the suspect and murders committed 2 months ago as well as 2 years ago.
The suspect was with a young woman, who is believed to be his girlfriend, at the time of the arrest. He had reportedly fled following the arrest of his cousin over the stabbing and murder of an individual known as “Kombu Roshan” around 2 months ago.
He was finally arrested in an operation carried out based on information received during investigations to apprehend him.
More information regarding the murders have been uncovered following the interrogation of the suspect, who has been handed over to Meetiyagoda Police for further investigations.
