Students reported missing have been found safe

Three undergraduates who were reported missing in the Saptha Kanya (Seven Virgins) mountain range since last afternoon have been found, the police confirmed a short while ago on Sunday (17).
The students were found following a joint operation launched by the police and army, an official said.
The operation was launched based on information received that the students were stranded in the forest after losing their way, police said.
Meanwhile s spokesman for the Hatton Police told Ada Derana that information had also been received regarding two French nationals who are also reportedly stranded in the mountain range. However, a search operation has not been launched to find them as of yet, he said.
