
An investigation is underway after bones believed to be of human origin were found while digging a well in Thiruketheeswaram area in Mannar, the police said.
The exhumation of the site has already been commenced following a court order, an official said.
The skeletal remains were found close approximation to the mass grave site in Thiruketheeswaram where remains of 96 persons were found five-years- ago, it was reported.
The investigation was triggered after several voluntary organizations filed a petition at the court pointing out that more skeletons could be found from the new site.
