Cannabis to be cultivated with a proper security mechanism - Rajitha

The authorities will give due consideration to take steps to cultivate cannabis with a proper security mechanism, Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, Rajitha Senaratne says.
The observation was made during a press conference held in Colombo this afternoon (07).
Minister Senaratne also said that the plant would be used for medical purposes while surplus will be exported.
The Minister said cannabis can be used for medicinal purposes and hence measures would be taken to implement the new security mechanism without any delay.
