
Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Mahinda Amaraweera has instructed relevant officials to launch an immediate investigation into the 3 metric tons of fish, believed to be around 8 years old, which was found in cold storage belonging to the Ceylon Fisheries Corporation.
The minister has issues the instructions to the ministry’s Additional Secretary (Development) S. Balasubramaniam, who is currently serving as Acting Chairman of the CFC.
He has been asked to find the individuals responsible or causing such massive losses for the CFC by not distributing the stock of fish which had been purchased from a foreign country.
