Seven persons, who had allegedly engaged in an illegal excavation in Hungama, have been arrested by the police, Ada Derana reporter said.
The suspects were arrested in Kattakaduwa area in Yaya, last evening (17).
Several equipment used for the illegal excavation have also been seized from the possession of the suspects.
The police said the alleged treasure hunters will be produced before the Magistrate tomorrow (18).
