Ministry vows compensation for man who died in wall collapse

Compensation will be offered for the person who succumbed after a wall collapsed on him at a shop which was damaged during the Salawa army camp fire, the Ministry of Disaster Management said.
The final conclusion in this regard will be taken once Minister Anura Priyadharshana Yapa arrives to Sri Lanka, the Secretary to the Ministry said.
The victim has been identified as a 68-year-old man.
Some 1032 houses have been handed back to the people after renovating by the members of the Military, Army spokesman Brigadier Jayantha Jayaweera said.
