Protest demands Missing Persons Office in North

Residents of Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu districts have staged a protest demanding that the government set up the Office of Missing Persons in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka.
During the protest, activists stated that a majority of the people went missing due to the war and therefore the families of missing would have to bear huge expenses if the office is established in Colombo.
The protesters also state that the Presidential Commission appointed to look into cases of missing persons has also failed to provide any relief to them.
