Candidates sitting for the Grade 5 Scholarship Exam today are advised to be at the examination centres before 9.00am with the Index Number pinned on the top left side of their clothes.
Commissioner General of Examinations Jayantha Pushpakumara says that the examination is scheduled to start at 9.30 am with the first paper held from 9.30 to 10.15 am while the 2nd paper is scheduled to be held from 10.45 am to 12 noon.
Students will be allowed to use pen or pencil can be to answer the question papers.
The Exams Chief also emphasizes that parents will not be allowed to enter the examination centers, even during the interval.
Nearly 360,000 candidates will sit for the Grade 5 scholarship examination at 2,959 centers throughout the island today. Among them are 421 children with special needs.
A staff of 28,000 has been deployed for administrative activities while separate officials have also been dispatched to monitor the exam.
