Former MP Shantha Bandara says that the 65th anniversary celebration of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) will be a historic event as the party’s leader will deliver a special speech during the event unveiling several policies.

He stated that the policies and vision of the late S.W.R.D Bandaranayaike, the founder of the SLFP, have been prepared in a manner which suits this day and age.

Bandara, who is the President of the SLFP’s Youth Front, urged members of the party who are threatening to boycott the convention to never forget that no matter where they go only the SLFP will remain from them to seek refuge.

He stated that a number of SLFP leaders and seniors, including former President Chandrika Kumaratunga, had left the party in the past only to comeback and join again.

The former Parliamentarian said that everyone has issues within the party but no one will be allowed to split the party.
