Malaysian police investigating attack on Lanka’s envoy

The Malaysian police are investigating the attack on Sri Lanka’s envoy to Malaysia at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the Star news agency reports.

 


Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar confirmed the incident to the media and said that police were currently tracking the perpetrators.

 


Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to Malaysia I. Ansar was assaulted by a small group of people at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Sunday.

 


The country’s Foreign Ministry, in a statement on its website, has also condemned the attack on its High Commissioner.
