Strong wind(up to 60-70 kmph) is expected in the Southern sea areas and fairly strong wind (up to 50-60kmph) can be expected over the island today, the Met. Department says.
The deep and shallow sea area off the coast extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota can be very rough at times as the wind speed can increase up to 60-70 kmph.
Naval and fishing communities are requested to be vigilant in this regard.
