
President Maithripala Sirisena will attend the opening session of the United nations General Assembly (UNGA) today (20), which will be preceded by the 1st Anniversary celebrations of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In the afternoon he is scheduled to hold bilateral discussions with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and few other leaders. He will also attend the luncheon hosted by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, the PMD reported.
In the evening of September 20, President Sirisena will participate in the Open Government Partnership with the leaders of several leading nations at the UN Headquarters 20.
