
Three accused sentenced to death for the murder of former Presidential Advisor Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra and three other,s have filed appeals at the Supreme Court calling for their release, Ada Derana reporter said.
Convicted individuals, Anura Thushara de Mel, Chaminda Ravi Jayanath and D.M. Sarath Bandara, through their lawyers, filed petitions with the Registrar Office at the Colombo High Court today.
Former UPFA parliamentarian Duminda Silva and four other suspects were sentenced to death over the murder of Bharatha Premachandra on September 8.
Four persons including Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra died following an exchange of gunfire at Walpola, Mulleriyawa on the day of the local government election on October 8, 2011.
