It is a usual occurrence that development projects of a country come to a temporary halt when a new government comes into power, Minister Mahinda Amaraweera says.
The observation was made while speaking at a press conference held in Colombo this afternoon.
“Same happened after elections in 1970, 1977, 1994 and 2005 as well,” he added.
“There were allegations that development projects have come to an abrupt end after the new government came into power. But, all of these projects have recommenced now,” said Amaraweera.
He also went on to say that development projects that were launched by the previous government will also be continued.
