Heavy traffic on Colombo - Chilaw road due to protest

The residents in the area near kochchikade have started a protest blocking the Colombo - Chilaw main road, Ada Derana reporter said.
Severe traffic jam reported on Colombo - Chilaw road due to the demonstration, it was reported.
The demonstration has been staged against illegal sand mining activities in Negombo, Kochchikade, Udangawa, Murupaana and Bambukuliya areas, reporter added.
The police advice the motorists to use alternative roads if at all possible.
