PH, Sri Lanka sign visa waiver agreement

Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto Yasay Jr. and Sri Lankan Ambassador Aruni Ranaraja have signed the Philippines-Sri Lanka waiver of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and official passports, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) disclosed Tuesday.

 


The agreement guarantees that holders of diplomatic and official passports from both countries will be allowed to enter, transit through, or stay in the territory of either country for up to 30 days without obtaining a visa.

 


The agreement was signed in commemoration of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Sri Lanka this year. The two countries’ ties were established on January 11, 1961.
