Speaker makes special statement on Independent Commissions

The President and the PM hold the position that space should not be given to hinder the independence of the Independent Commissions, the Speaker says.
The observation was made while clarifying on the progress of the Independent Commissions, his media unit said in a statement today.
Speaker Karu Jayasuriya also pointed out that neither the PM nor the President made contradictory remarks on the services of the Independent Commissions.
He also went on to say that space should not be given that would hinder the progress of the Independent Commissions in future.
