I urge the media to reveal ‘true’ facts with respect of the CBSL bond scam issue, Deputy Minister Harsha de Silva says.
The observation was made at a press conference held in Colombo this afternoon (30).
He went on to say that each and every member of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) had in the first place agreed with the ‘common’ recommendations of the final draft report.
“All the members of the COPE had as well as agreed with 14 recommendations of the Auditor General,” he added.
However, he also went on to say that the COPE report did not include suggestions made by Deputy Minister Ajith P. Perera on the CBSL bond scam.
However earlier, COPE Chairman MP Sunil Handunnetti alleged that the United National Party group in COPE was eyeing to safeguard former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister Ajith P. Perera while speaking at a public gathering alleged that some members of the COPE disagreed to agree that legal action should be taken against the Directors of the Perpetual Treasuries Limited.
