Wimal arrives at FCID, no bail for Sarath

UPFA MP Wimal Weerawansa has arrived at the Financial Crime Investigation Division (FCID) a short while ago on Monday, police said. 

 


The MP was summoned to record a statement in connection with irregularities occurred at the Ministry of Housing and Construction while he was serving as its Minister, an official said.

 


Meanwhile, Wimal Weerawansa’s brother Sarath Weerawansa has been further remanded until 16 November by the Fort Magistrate’s Court. Sarath Weerawansa was arrested on charges of misusing government-owned vehicles during the previous government.
