Immediate actions should be taken in connection with the Treasury bond issue, the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) insisted today.
The observation was made by MP Tilvin Silva while speaking at a press conference held in Battaramulla this afternoon (09).
He pointed out the JVP in the first place had insisted to dismiss former CB Governor Arjuna Mahendran from his post, but the government ignored the request.
“We don’t trust this government,” he added. The JVP also demanded the government to take legal action against the former governor of Central Bank and others who were involved in the bond scam and to recover the money defrauded by the scammers.
“The government, instead of taking action on the released COPE report, is making various statements. The ministers of the government too say at various places that fraudsters should be arrested,” he added.
The MP added that the JVP has decided to pressurize the government in connection with the immediate action that should be taken on Central Bank bond scam.
