Met Department forecasts thundershowers over the island

The Department of Meteorology says that atmospheric conditions are getting favorable for evening thundershowers over the island.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers, it said.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Northern, Eastern and Uva provinces and in the Hambantota district.
Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere after 2.00 p.m. while heavy falls (more than 100mm) can be expected at some places, particularly in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and Southern provinces.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces during the morning, the Met Department added.
