
Private bus operators say there will not be a bus strike tomorrow as announced earlier. Decision taken after discussions with Finance Minister, LPBOA said.
Private Bus services operating across the country were likely to come to a standstill tomorrow (15) due to the countrywide strike to be launched by private bus owners. Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association (LPBOA) Chairman, Gemunu Wijeratne, said that the government should immediately withdraw the proposal to increase the minimum fine for traffic offences to Rs 2,500.
He added that the strike was called off following discussions with the Finance Minister.
