Rs.3.2M worth cigarettes seized at BIA

Four Chinese nationals including two women have been arrested by the customs at the Bandaranaike International Airport for transporting cigarettes illegally to the country.

 


The suspects were arrested at around 5.40am this morning (15), an official said.

 


The stock of 410 cigarette cartons worth Rs.3.2 million was found from the possession of the suspects, the official added. The further investigations are carried out by the Sri Lanka Customs.
