
The former Commandant of the Special Task Force (STF) retired DIG K.M.L. Sarathchandra, who was remanded for allegedly misusing a state vehicle, has been granted bail.
Sarathchandran was released on two personal bails of Rs.1 million each by Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya this morning.
Police earlier informed the court that he was arrested in connection with an incident of misusing a vehicle belonging to the Police Special Task Force (STF) and requested that he be remanded as investigations regarding the suspect have not concluded.
Sarathchandra served as the Commandants of the Special Task Force (STF) from March 24, 2008 to March 19, 2011.
