The Government Medical Officers’ Association has decided to resort to a 24-hour token strike tomorrow (30) from 8 am, its Spokesperson Dr.Samantha Ananda said.
He made the observation while speaking at a press conference held in Colombo this afternoon.
However, the GMOA said the operations at the Cancer Hospital, Colombo and Peradeniya Children’s Hospital and several other hospitals will not be affected by the trade union action.
Samantha Ananda also went on to say the GMOA has decided to launch the token strike since the authorities have yet failed to address issues relating to the Budget 2017. He pointed out several budget proposals would adversely affect the government services.
