Motorists advised to avoid Parliament road

Motorists have been advised to avoid Parliament road from Rajagiriya to Battaramulla due to heavy traffic, police said.
A protest march is currently underway as hundreds of university students are marching towards the Parliament, Ada Derana reporter said. The protest march was commenced at the University of Kelaniya this afternoon.
The police also advise drivers to use alternative routes if at all possible.
The Colombo Additional Magistrate earlier this morning rejected to issue an injunction to prevent protesters from holding demonstrations near the Parliament. The police requested the injunction order following the scheduled protest by the university students.
