Close to 800 kilograms of cocaine have been discovered in a ship docked at the Colombo Harbour.
The drugs were reportedly found in a ship transporting timber which had arrived from Ecuador and headed towards India.
Nearly 800kg of cocaine were discovered by officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB), who searched the vessel after obtaining a court order, based on a tip-off.
The street value of the cocaine haul has not been estimated yet while further investigations are ongoing.
