A total of 47,900 dengue cases have been reported from all parts of the country up to this month with over 77 dengue deaths, the Health Ministry says.
The Ministry says that most of the dengue cases were reported from Colombo, Kalutara, Galle, Jaffna, Ratnapura, Kurunegala, Puttalam, Batticaloa and Ampara districts.
The Ministry stresses that this situation warrants regular removal of possible mosquito breeding sites from the environment. It also emphasises that it is important to seek medical attention in the event of fever by day three of the illness.
