
The President will sign several bilateral Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with the government of Malaysia during his visit, the PMD reported.
President Mathripala Sirisena is scheduled to visit Malaysia from December 15– 17.
The Official Welcoming Ceremony will be held on the morning of 16 December 2016 at Perdana Square, Putrajaya. During the visit, YAB Prime Minister and the President will hold a bilateral meeting that will provide opportunities for both sides to review existing relations and cooperation as well as identify potential areas for future collaboration. Five Mous would be concluded between the two countries covering the areas of tourism, youth development, culture, arts and heritage, foreign workers as well as scientific and technical cooperation.
Malaysia and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka enjoy warm and wide-ranging substantive relations in trade and investment, education, tourism and culture, human resources, capacity building, youth, and sports which have brought about mutual benefit to both countries. This visit will provide new impetus to the bilateral cooperation that will cement and elevate relations between Malaysia and Sri Lanka to greater heights.
