Five missing from Sri Pada reserve rescued

Five persons who went missing in the Sri Pada forest reserve have been found by the police during a search operation carried out in the area.

 

The five individuals were reported missing after entering the Sri Pada reserve from the Upper Hamilton area of the Laxapana Estate on Monday (12).

 

However, they were discovered and rescued by Police Special Task Force (STF) personnel after they were located with the help of Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF).

 

SLAF rescue team deployed in a Bell 412 helicopter managed to locate the five pilgrims during the search operation.
