Man sentenced to death for murdering mother of two

A man found guilty of strangling and murdering a woman in the Galenbindunuwewa area in January last year, has been sentenced to death by the Anuradhapura High Court.
Galenbindunuwewa Police carried out investigations into the murder of a mother of two in the area on January 15, 2015 while the attorney general filed indictments before the High Court.
Delivering the verdict in the vase today, Anuradhapura High Court Judge Manjula Thilakaratne gave the death penalty to the suspect, who is also a resident of Galenbindunuwewa.
